Playing this morning brought to my attention a couple of important things. I was up at 5am learning the songs, I listen to them over many times, charted out the parts to help memorize them and felt prepared when I arrived. When we practiced them I played so differently as the original parts just didn't fit. When I'm in these situations I find my playing reduced to the lowest common denominator, basic triads and chords. It always works, always fills the need and becomes the foundation of my parts. My practice should always include these as without triads and chords, everything else would have nothing to build from. I don't ever think the foundations will become redundant.

Never make decisions based on feelings. Feelings can lie, they will mislead, and then they can change in an instant, they will drive you to do things that are against your nature. Faith in God however never lies and never misleads. Faith will bring feelings that are good. Lean on your faith in God, then your feelings will follow.
This is the start of something huge. I have been teaching music for many years and have always wanted to start a website so I could bring music to so many more. This project will take many years to develop, thank you for coming on this journey with me. |
