Free Drum Loops - Quaver (Eighth Notes) Based
Practicing with a metronome is a very important part of learning, but it can be made even better by using a drum loop. The drum loop will perform the same function as a metronome, but will give a better context for real situations for your playing. It doesn't matter what you are working on, playing along with something other than yourself will improve your timing. If you are working on scales, arpeggios, riffs or songs, always try to play along with either a drum loop or a metronome. The following recordings are of a real drummer, looped so you can practice along with them. These loops are all based on a quaver note subdivision i.e. two hits per beat. The tempos are stepped by in intervals of 5 beats per minute (bpm). As you find you can play along at a slow tempo, keep increasing the tempo until it becomes difficult, and then back it off 5 bpm for that practice session. The loops are roughly 5 minutes in length. You can download an entire set of loops in our store.
